WHO WE ARE
The Alliance for National Initiative and Development Organization (ANIDO) is a newly established Ethiopian local nonprofit organization founded by Somali Region scholars and development professionals committed to contributing to national development efforts, the organization was officially registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Authority for Civil Society Organizations (ACSO) under registration number 7623.
ANIDO was created in response to the growing need for locally driven solutions that improve the livelihoods, water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), health, nutrition, education, and resilience of vulnerable and marginalized populations across Ethiopia, particularly in underserved regions. The organization emphasizes evidence-based volunteer actions, community participation, and multi-sectoral collaboration to address pressing social and developmental challenges.

To contribute to national development and improve the living standards of vulnerable and
marginalized communities through sustainable interventions in health, education, water,
sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and community resilience-building programs.

Partnerships and Collaboration
ANIDO works closely with government institutions particularly the Somali Regional Health Bureau (RHB), the water bureau, education bureau, and development partners, to pilot innovative, volunteer-driven initiatives that generate evidence and strengthen community systems. The organization seeks to establish credible partnerships with donors, NGOs, and research institutions to scale out sustainable solutions.
